What is a mental health centre? - PLEASE ANSWER?
Hello everyone. I posted a question not long ago about the loss of my mum when i was seven and how it was only starting to affect me now i am 16. I explained how i felt sad, low, and felt like i wanted to died. I was advised to see the doctor which i have just done and he was very kind and listened very well to me. He said that 'he will make some arrangements and get me an appointment with a local Mental Health Centre'. I'm sure i know but just to check, what exactly is a Mental Health Centre and what can i expect from it. He said they would assess my situation aswell, what will this involve etc?Thanks alot x
I want to stop going to this mental health centre?
I'm sort of in recovery from depression, but it's not moving along very fast. I'm sick of going, all we do is talk about what's going on which is nothing. It used to be really good for me, but now it's not working it's just a waste of time for me and the nurse. I mean they cancelled one of my appointments for some other person so, im not that important so can I be discharged if I ask? I'm like the only person in the world who isn't really treatable for it. I'm on anti depressants but they're just for a head start, now im stuck in a rut.I'm a lot happier than I used to be though.
Meeting at some mental health centre?
i have to go to a meeting at a mental health centre to see a doctor that my counsellor has referred me to but, he is getting me picked up by a woman i have never met before, and i am really scared i hate meeting new people and i don't think i will be able to get in the car with her . I don't know what to dohe is my counsellor
Has anyone been treated at the Child and Adolescence mental health centre at toronto east general, doing well?
i don't need to know your name, just what else you did to get better or if you got worse after their treatmentanyone not helped by their program,but worse?
Is depression treated in mental health centers?
if someones really depressed, and suicidal, do they help that?
At a mental health center, can they make you stay longer for this reason?
I was at a mental health center because I tried to strangle a girl at school and then on a monday they day I was supposed to go home they said " your not going home today" just because I agreed to give one of the guys a blowjob and they made me stay 4 days longer
What are some thoughts on community mental health centers?
Are they beneficial to the client populations they serve? Do clients tend to get " stuck" in the system? What are the upsides and downsides?
My friend goes to a community mental health center every 3 months & sees the same dr.. why do you think ?
she had a very bad panic attack after all this time? She is comfortable with the dr. so we dont understand all that we went thru to get her there?
Is this legal for the people at my mental health center to do?
I go through a prescription assistance program for my medication for OCD and ADHD right now since the cost of medication is sky high and I am poor. My doctor prescribed my meds of course and I always get it through the program which sends it their to the pharmacy at the center I go to for my therapy and doctor visits. I have to re enroll in the program every year, and I usually have enough meds to last me until they approve the application again, NOT THIS YEAR. They did not have one bottle left when I had to sign up for the program again. I am almost out of one of the medicines I take and the other may last me, I haven't counted it yet. They said they would have to wait until the application comes through and they send me more bottle. In the meantime I have talked to the nurse there about it and she said she would talk to the doctor about it. That was the first nurse I talked to, another one called me monday after she got a hold of the notes from the first nurse going to the doctor. She was totally braindead and didn't understand what I was telling her. She first made the assumption that I was now making enough money to not qualify for the program and I had to bluntly state that I am having to wait on more meds while my application goes through. Heck, I am making less this year than I was last year. I lost my job and had to settle for one that paid less until I could find another. Still no luck with the crappy job market. They said it could take weeks but one time it took a month to go through but I had plenty of meds then . They said all they can do is talk to the doctor about getting on a cheaper medicine that is supposed to treat the same stuff, but with a different name until it all goes through. That will be tommorow before the nurse can talk to her since the doctor was not there today. I was told they were going to talk to her on Monday. I can buy a 30 day supply of the pills but they cost over $200.00. I know abruptly going off of medication can make someone sick and even make their behavior go bad some have gone on shooting sprees , can these people legally do this to me?? I mean that is just stupid The people at the pharmacy told me that it was time for me to re apply. They have do it at a various time each year. It is a we tell you type situation. I didn't know.They don't have samples either.
Why would the mental health center put down obesity on my chart?
I was reading the charts from when I went to a mental health center several months ago and they put down Obesity but I did not tell them how much I weighed and they did no weigh me and my mom says I look overweight but not obese

ADHD Mental health center or pediatrician??
My son is 5. He was diagnosed with ADHD. His doctor has tried 2 different drugs on him, and he has had little side effects on the last drug.She is going by what the teacher is saying on the forms.She took him off the meds all together.His teacher says he cant do his work without help from medication.I was wondering if a mental health center can monitor him bettter on medication than his pediatrician.My sons teacher is wonderful. We talk at least once a week about how my son is doing.When he was on Aderall she let me know how he was acting" zombie like" and she didnt like that at all, so thats when the dr. lowered the doseage.i'll see about the patch. Im not leaving his dr. all together,Just with the ADHD thing.
Has anyone been to mental health center for evaluation?
Just wanting to know if this has actually helped anyone that has had to go get evaluated? A boy has gone and said he has already changed in 2 wks. Can anyone help me on this?A 14 year old has gone because of his temper towards the school and his mom. He only lost his temper once in 3 months that he stayed with us. But his mother is REALLY there for him even though she is there, if that makes any sense.ok, I mean she really isn't there for him even though she is there. Like going to his games, programs, anything that would mean alot to him for her to be there, she's not
An inexpensive therapist or mental health center in Chicago?
I dont have insurance and my doc charges me $70 every visit. I am a fulltime student looking for a job. I want to know if anyone knows either a mental health center therapist that is not only good but inexpensive.
