What is the average length in a mental hospital for a sucide attempt?
ok i have a friend who just recently tried to kill herself by taking an excessive amount of prescription pills.She has no history of mental problems or show any signs of depression. She is actually as normal as possible, She has thoroughly realize what she has done and regret every bit of that horrible event that took place. After being released from the hospital she was sent to a mental center, and currently have been there for 2 days, she seem to be the only person in the mental center who appears to be sane, and is allowed not to take any medication because of it, well she is quite nervous and wants to be back home with her family. can anyone give me any kind of info on when they mite be released from this mental center or the average length?
Do mental hospitals give you different pills every day if there not working?
They say you get put on a few medication in a ward, and different ones. So i really want to know if in a mental hospital inpatient unit , if they give you different medication LIKE DAILY to find the right one for you if there not working ??? I want to get on the right one quick.Really?? serious medication too?So what if the benzos anti phychotics mood stabilizers etc are NOT WORKING? then would they change them " daily" ?

How bad does a mentally ill person have to be to get short or long term in treatments? What are mental hospitals like? What kind of treatments go on there? Will I have to tell my therapist everything outright, or will she ask what s needed and kind of lead me along? Should I tell her about my self harm in the past? I stopped, and I don t want to tell because my sister self harmed on a much worse degree, and I have a feeling they ll think I m making it up for attention If I do tell my therapist about past self harm, will she tell my mother? I m not sure because I quit, and I m not planning on doing it anymore.Details I m fifteen, female and I m setting up an appointment with a therapist. My mom told me they could find me fit for in treatment. I freaked out, because the whole reason I m seeking help is because I don t want to end up in jail or a mental hospital, and I feel like that s where I m headed. I d like these insecurities and fears settled before I start therapy and treatments, any help is greatly appreciated. Please and thank you

I don't think they should see a theripast or any proffesinal. They can actually see them. It's possible.
How can I peacefully get myself admitted into a mental hospital with no legal problems?
The best week of my life was spent in a mental hospital. All the drugs I could stomach I just said would I " took" in the outside world, the food was decent and plentiful, snacks available at all times, games, rec time, cigarette breaks i.e. social hour, crazy people to make fond memories with, intoxicated & loose women, watching t.v. or sleeping all day was all i had to worry about. I'm not trolling, I'm not joking, i'm not doing any of that. What can I do to get back into a mental hospital without breaking some sort of law that would make me face repercussions in the free world? joeli was in one a while back, and i smoked every 2 hours we had " smoke break" so you are wrong, but this is Texas maybe it's different.

Hi, im 13 and i am sure as hell i have depression, all my friends say so and all my symptoms are right.Iv considered suicide before and have plans as to what i could do jump of my local bridge on to the motorway, overdose . I self harm not to that i bleed but so that i have huge marks and even some scars that have been there for more than 3 months Iv had all the symptoms for depression and for about 6 weeks now.If i go to the doctors would they make me go in to a mental institute and would they have to tell my parents ?Please only answer if you know what it is for the UK as US laws may be different.Thanks x

I'm 17 and I live Tennessee. I was wondering if I went alone to a mental hospital would they let me check in. I'm not about to kill myself or anything like that, I've just had a lot of stuff happen to me in the past couple of years and I've never gotten professional help for it. Also, I have episodes of mania and depression. My parents aren't willing to take me to a mental hospital because they don't think I need it and they say they don't have money for medical bills. But I think its because my mother is very VERY religious and she thinks God is the only help we need and if we go to a professional for physical or mental help we're denying God. Also, if I can check myself in are there any things I should make sure I bring?

My depression has gotten worse. I tried commiting suicide last year. Every time someone makes me mad. I get images of wanting to hurt them so bad that I end up nearly killing them. Or I get the image of how im going to kill them. There are times where i'm ready to launch at someone. Last year I threw scissors at my sister. I wasn't sorry. I didn't hurt her though. I was so mad because I didn't. I cut myself at times and I don't care if I hurt any ones feelings. So do you think if a doctor or a therapist found out about this. They would send me to a mental place? Well I'm not seeing anyone right now. Because i'm on a waiting list.

well i started cutting myself sense i was 14 and im 18 now and still do it very frequently.my dad left before i was born he was in and out of my life and when i was 14 he said he would be back in a couple of days and i never saw him again.like 2 weeks ago i started talking to him again and now he wont talk to me.thats my biggest issue right now.i think about suicide almost ever day,and i cut almost everyday i think of ways to die sometimes,i went to a mental hospital last summer ,and i am debating on weather or not i should go back,and when would be the best time to,i would like to talk to someone,so if you would just say if you have aim,yahoo or msn, or if you have myspace or facebook please

I was watching this thingy on youtube talking about what happens in mental hospitals because im real interested in mental health and they had little kids with down syndrome like 3 or 4 in the hospital and i was wandering why they put kids with down syndrome in a mental hospital because there is a kid at my school with down syndrome??
